Ms. Alex, like many dancers, discovered her love for dance at the age of three. Growing up in Broken Arrow, she had the privilege of dancing with various programs and companies, such as The Tulsa Ballet, Tigettes, and our very own Extension Dance Academy. Upon completing high school, she pursued her interest in dance at Oklahoma City University, where she was part of the prestigious Dance Program at The Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Arts Management. Graduating with a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance, she relocated to Boston, where she began her teaching career while also performing professionally, with her standout role in West Side Story. Upon returning to the Tulsa area, Ms. Alex continued teaching and has been an instructor at EDA for the past seven years. No matter the style she is teaching, Ms. Alex is passionate about engaging her students in the artistry and joy of dance, finding inspiration from dance history, current trends, and future possibilities of the craft.
